Cowichan River Lodge

Fantastic stay, beautiful surroundings. John and Danielle are great hosts. The rooms are spacious, clean and beds are super comfortable. A fire was going when we got back from dinner (John picked us up so we could have drinks ) Breakfast served and cooked by John was delicious. Really could not have asked for anything more! Thanks!

This place is magic! The Lodge is gorgeous. The grounds beautiful and with your own private beach on the river, it truly can't get any better. The hosts, John & Danielle are the most generous and thoughtful people and complete the experience. It is the perfect escape. I highly recommend staying at this hidden piece of paradise.

We had an amazing stay. John and Danielle’s hospitality was second to none - from the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and taken care of. The property itself was beautiful and so tranquil, right on the Cowichan River with a nice little riverside seating area. The lodge is beautifully decorated, and the high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows make it feel so spacious. Our room was perfect. Breakfast was restaurant-quality good. Everything we needed was provided to us. John was so helpful with suggestions on walking trails and where to eat. We can’t wait to come back!

John and Daniel were very friendly and accommodating mangers of this lovely lodge. John knows a lot about the local tourist sites and wildlife. We could not get enough of his interesting stores. Food was wonderful and the room was clean and comfortable. This place is a must destination for those who want a quiet and scenic retreat.

Great experience! John is a fantastic host, lots of knowledge about the area and wildlife and always available. Very clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. Great breakfast. Stunning views. Bring your binoculars to meet Justin (the) Beaver. This place made our journey from Spain worth it. Thanks John!!!

The property looks amazing, the interior is all wooden which gives you a warm and friendly feeling. Danielle & John, the hosts, are wonderful people, super nice and friendly. We wanted to do a barbeque at night and when we asked John he prepared us all the stuff we needed: Condiments, Culinary tools, cutlery, and everything else that we needed. We just had to buy the meat. Overall we really enjoyed staying here, I wish I could give them more than five stars.

A stunning location. We enjoyed 4 nights here this summer and loved it. The hosts are great and very knowledgeable about the area. We went on amazing hikes thanks to their tips. They were very accommodating to our baby and we felt welcome and spoilt. The breakfast alone is worth a return trip!

The lodge itself was beautiful, spacious, and clean. The property it sits on was stunning with access to the river, mountain views, and plenty of seating to take it all in. The owners John and Danielle were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and made the best breakfasts ever! Hands down, best breakfast sausage I’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend and would definitely come back!
